Background
Amazon, one of the world’s largest companies, operates in a multitude of sectors, from e-commerce to cloud computing, entertainment, and beyond. The company’s vast array of services and global reach require streamlined operations across various departments.
The Challenge
One such department, Global Road Safety – Services IGP, needed to implement an automation workflow utilising Retool for its business requirements.
However, technical difficulties hindered the deployment on AWS, necessitating a comprehensive solution involving AWS CloudFormation, Application Load Balancer (ALB) SSO, Amazon ECS, and Retool knowledge.
Our Solution
We provided an end-to-end solution to overcome these technical difficulties:
- CloudFormation Setup: We created a new CloudFormation stack, incorporating an ALB SSO for secure access to the Retool application.
- ECS Cluster: We set up an ECS cluster with the necessary tasks from Retool, including those for the Temporal backend, ensuring all components were properly integrated.
- Third-Party Communication: We communicated with Amazon’s third-party provider, coordinating and ensuring the solution was fully functional and aligned with Amazon’s requirements.
The Result
The new system has allowed Amazon’s Global Road Safety – Services IGP to use Retool efficiently for its business needs. The results include:
